What is the Purpose?

Purpose

The purpose of The Federation is to represent the best interests of Tenants and Residents and promote their well-being.

What is the Mandate?

Mandate

The Federation is publicly elected (by those who say we can) to represent with their permission and authority,

To receive and give instructions,

Make decisions with the right to form our own opinions

Consent must include a complaints procedure

Inclusion, people must be told and they must know about you

Clarity, a clear view of your role "Consultation"

Representation is wider than the member election

Authority comes from being un-opposed

Accountability justify the decisions you make "Be honest, open,

even if the decision is wrong

The mandate of The Federation is

· Working towards inclusion,

· Being accountable,

· Having consent

· Having the authority to act,

· Maintaining a clear and relevant up to date role

What are the Objectives?

Objectives

To maintain an ongoing program of research and consultation
designed to identify and promote the needs of Tenants and
Residents.

To identify and interpret policies and practises of key agencies,
access how these impact on the interests of Tenants and Residents

Develop and deliver a strategy designed to meet the needs of the
Tenants and Residents, utilising the resources available through
all agencies.

To challenge existing structures for communication, and equally
confront the decision making process that impacts on Tenants and
Residents.

To declare criteria for bench marking, and to identify
improvements.

To identify and share or promote good practises.

Priorities

Working together with others for the same aims, to promote what
the Tenants and Residents need

To ensure effective communication between Tenants and
Residents and all agencies in a position to contribute achievement
of our goals.

To see incremental and sustainable improvements in the quality
of life for all Tenants and Residents in the borough.

To ensure the effective management of resources, and to see
value for money in the use of resources for to the benefit of
Tenants and Residents.
